The Bearn region has so much beautiful countryside to explore, places of interest to see and sporting activities to do.  The Pyrenees stretch from the Atlantic Ocean to the Mediterranean, ample scope if you enjoy pursuits such as walking, cycling, fishing and skiing.  Aquitaine is renowned for its beaches which are perfect for family and surfers alike, all less than a 1 hour away.  You don’t even have to travel that far, as there is a large lake at Orthez just 10 minutes away which has a lovely sandy beach and is safe for children of all ages. 

It also offers other leisure activities such as jet and water skiing, and La Saligue des Oiseaux - which is a nature trail alongside one of its’ borders.  

For the golfers there is Pau and Biarritz where there are some fantastic golf courses.  Also, for those who like city culture, the historic cities of Pau, Biarritz, Bayonne, and San Sebastian in Spain must not be missed.  I almost forgot to mention the regions excellent cuisine of Foie Gras, Confit de Canard, and freshly caught Fish and Shellfish.
